Summer Must-Have Roundup

I feel like it's been a lifetime since I've posted! Between bronchitis and my photographer (aka boyfriend) being out of town... there hasn't been much going on to share about. Believe me, nobody wants to see a sick outfit of the day post (so not cute!). On top of all that, my life has been more hectic than usual with a whole 'trying to find a new house and moving as soon as I possibly can' drama, but I'll spare you the details.

So... I thought I'd share with you a few of my summer favorites! It's getting (overly) warm outside and I'm dreaming of the beach, strawberry margaritas, and an afternoon siesta. Here are my top picks for comfortable, affordable, stylish summer chic.
Also, don't forget to take 20% off all sale items at Farfetch x20jun15, 25% off of sale at Shopbop with code 25MORE, and $75 off of $350 purchase at Saks Fifth Avenue with code SAKS47. Happy Shopping!

What looks having you feel inspired this summer? Comment below and let me know!
Wishing you piƱa coladas and tropical dreams...

If you’re reading this post, chances are, you’re a creative type. You like to craft, explore your creativity, and share your creations with others. And it’s for people like you that Cricut created their line of personal electronic cutting machines.

A little known fact about Cricut is that they’ve actually been in business for over 50 years, and their primary purpose has been to develop tools that inspire creativity in people.

Today, millions of people use Cricut’s award-winning products to create beautiful, inventive, and personal projects.

So, what is CricutCricut is actually a family of electronic cutting machines that make it possible for you to easily create amazing do-it-yourself (DIY) projects. Well, not totally DIY because Cricut’s incredible machine’s do a LOT of the heavy lifting.

The two machines that Cricut offers are:
To give you loads of creative freedom and versatility, Cricut developed the Cricut Design Space™, a cloud-based software that works seamlessly with the Cricut Explore® family of machines.

Design Space gives you access to all of your images and projects from any compatible computer or iPad, so you can design just about anything, anytime, and anywhere.

Once you’ve uploaded your design (or pre-designed image) to your Cricut Explore cutting machine, you can sit back and watch it magically bring your design to life.

There are so many interesting things you can make and do with Cricut – which we’ll be sure to cover in a future post. But before we get too ahead of ourselves, it’s best to go over each of Cricut’s machines, what they do, and how they are different. And since I’ve given you quite a bit of info already, we’ll pick up on there in next week’s post!

Until then … happy crafting!

Sister Love

H&M Slip-On Sandals || Francesca's Crossbody Bag (old)

I've been meaning to post this since my Vegas trip two weeks ago! I just had to snap some quick photos while I was there of my baby sister, Melissa (the one who rescued the little Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, Zeus). Her style is very relaxed and reflective of the 105 degree weather in Las Vegas right now! She paired together a few of her favorites, mostly from Pac Sun and H&M. You can also see her vest styled differently here (because stealing clothes is what sisters do best).

Lately I've been incredibly busy! I spent the last week in Beaver Creek, Colorado to celebrate my friend Kelly's wedding. She was a stunning bride! Although I came down with a bit of altitude sickness (going from sealevel to around 10,000 feet in elevation is quite an adjustment!) I had so much fun crafting, decorating, and having tons of girl time. I can't wait to share more with you later!

Floral Swim

Forever 21 Floral Kimono (old) Similar 1 2 3 || Merona Haley Bow Sandals
Forever 21 Flounce Bikini (old)
Sun Hat (old)

Everybody, meet Zeus! My sister just adopted this little monster a few days ago. I am so happy she saved his life instead of buying a pup from a shop (which often supports puppy mills). He loves being held, so he became the perfect accessory to my poolside outfit! You can find adorable dogs at your local shelter...

I paired an old flounce top bikini and kimono from Forever 21 with a sun hat and a pair of bow sandals from Target. Most of the pieces aren't available anymore, but I've linked a bunch of similar items below. I've been loving kimonos lately! They are perfect as a pool cover-up and most are super lightweight, which is great when it's over 100 degrees outside. The design of my bikini is also great because the straps are similar to a bra rather than a halter bikini, so it's more comfortable and supportive.
And also here's a photo bomb of my own rescue dog, Brooklyn. She loves her new puppy cousin! (Seriously, it's adorable and they are great friends already!)
Remember to adopt, not shop :)

Dressed Down

Dresses are great because of their versatility- they can easily be dressed up or dressed down! I spent this past weekend in Las Vegas to get away, visit family, and relax (in the air conditioning of course because it's hot outside!). On Saturday I went with my boyfriend and his family to dinner to watch the Blackhawks game... they're from Chicago and are big fans! Now, going to dinner at a sports bar is no fancy event, but when I paired this dress with a ripped denim vest from H&M (that I borrowed from my little sister's closet because that's what sisters are for), my favorite sandals, and simple copper jewelry, I was ready for a relaxed and casual evening. The dress is from J. Crew (and is way on sale and comes in tall sizes) and is in their 'Weddings and Events' category. I can't wait to wear this dress again, but in a more elegant manner! The silk chiffon is light and flowy, which is both beautiful and comfortable.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Don't forget to enter my giveaway that's running until June 17th. View the post and enter here!

Crisp & Clean

Michael Kors iPhone Wallet (similar 1 2 3)
Wolf Pendant Necklace bought at Melrose Trading Post in Los Angeles

I'm definitely the type of person that re-wears items that I love over and over again! So you've probably seen me wear these jeans and the sandals before... But let me tell you, they are so comfortable and definitely pop, so they are staples in my summer wardrobe. I love mixing and matching pieces that I have with each other so I can create a bunch of new outfits without spending my entire life savings. The white top is lightweight and flowy- great for the L.A. temperatures that have been rising! I've linked the same top in a different color (not many sizes are left!) and a similar top that comes in white. I wore an amazing Lucky gold tone and turquoise bracelet that I just bought and love! Most of my favorite jewelry pieces are Lucky Brand! To finish off the look I took my Michael Kors phone wallet (which is perfect for bringing along my I.D., cards, cash, and wallet when I don't want to bring my entire purse). It isn't available online, but I did link similar ones that I think you'll love!

I am so excited for something new that will be up on the blog within a week or so. I spent today filming and it will be ready soon. Keep an eye out!
