I've never been a fan of Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not that cynical and yes, I do believe in love. However, I believe that the feelings and grand gestures that are planned and saved for V-Day shouldn't be reserved for a single 24 hours. Spread love every day! Surprise someone because it is a random Tuesday! Don't let the big brand names control your idea of Holidays and love. With that being said, my Valentine's day was no different that most other Saturdays... and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Saturdays in Southern California are made for adventure! My handsome man and I made around an hour trek from LA (traffic was light) to just south of Agoura Hills. Nestled up in the Santa Monica Mountains, Paramount Ranch was the perfect place to spend a non-traditional Valentines day.

The Western Town was adorable, and fun to run around and imagine yourself in a different time. Plus, it's free! Old Hollywood started filming here as early as the '20s, and it was sold to the Park Services in the '80s. Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman filmed here in the 90's. Basically, you feel like you're on a set.

Brooklyn (our 2 year old Staffie) could care less about pretending to be a movie star, and was instead obsessed with chasing the birds and squirrels. And dragging us through the muddy creek... she hates the leash.
The grass was green, the sky was blue, the weather was perfect, and so was my company.
I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's Day. It was relaxing, stress free, full of natural beauty, and quite an adventure. Every day is like Valentine's Day when you view the beauty in life surrounded by those you love.
Brooklyn was tired and muddy, a sign of a great day!
Now, Valentine's Day has come and gone, and that only means one thing....
